jQuery Logo

More and more high traffic sites are depending on jQuery for their interactive elements. Our jQuery course is designed to help your team build and deploy state of the art Javascript interfaces with a minimum of fuss. We cover the basic Javascript language, the way jQuery interacts with HTML and CSS, and how to achieve common user-interface effects.

Our four day jQuery program takes participants from no previous Javascript knowledge through to competency in using Javascript and jQuery to develop interactive user experiences. Our five day program extends this and spends longer looking at core Javascript issues which are very useful for developers who will need to create reusable code or more complex UI elements. We can also offer a three day program aimed at technically literate designers (those with good HTML and CSS skills), taking them to a point where they understand how jQuery code works and how to modify it and extend it successfully.

Ajax Logo

If you aren't definitely set on jQuery yet, we can offer broader Javascript programs that discuss a range of toolkits. See our Javascript and Ajax program for details.

We offer a range of additional modules that can add to your participants skills in jQuery and Javascript. We can cover detailed issues in accessibility, including government mandated disability provision and graceful fallback techniques (accessible Javascript, and Hijax). We can provide modules on end-to-end Ajax, looking at server-side issues as well as client side code. And we can provide training in performance issues, including load-times, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.

All our courses are customized for each client, so get in touch to discuss your needs.

Our Training

Our courses are intensive and practical, focussing on timely web-technology issues for professionals who need to get stuff done.

Course Materials

Our training philosophy can be expressed in 4 simple principles:

1. Doing is better than just hearing. Our courses are structured in a bite-sized way, with concept presentations, followed by guided student work on exercises and well-written, robust example code.

2. Training is a long-term process. We continue to provide support for your participants for three months after the course is over, answering syllabus-related questions as they arise. We don't leave our course participants in the lurch when they come to apply their learning to real world problems.

3. Not all experts can teach. Not all teachers are experts. Minimum qualifications for our instructors are expert-level skills in their subject with a great ability to communicate their knowledge and mentor skill-development.

4. It's your course. Everyone has different needs of their training program. We work hard to understand the demands your work will put on your technical skills, and tailor programs to help you. We are happy to include your real-world problems as examples and exercises.

The supporting materials provided were also invaluable .... the training handbook was a constant companion until long after the end of the course, and a trusted starting-point for numerous forays into new territory.
